Wordpress on Debian quick setting guide

It’s easy, it’s fun and everyone has got one. What? A blog, of course!
In order to get a new blog, you practically have two sole choices: get one from a blog farm (myspace.com,wordpress.com,blogger.com) or set up one over a server of yours.
Actually, there is a third major way too: you get a free/paid hosting service and set up your blog there. However, this is valid only for those who don’t drool over linux server administration and/or have to guarantee a good response even in presence of lots and lots of connections. So I won’t talk about them
This article (obviously!) will cover the second choice: you get an (not so) old machine, you install Debian on it and then you set up your blog there.

What you need:

Planeta DebianPT

There's a new Debian Planet out there, this one for Portuguese folks: Planet DebianPT. This new planet simple aims to aggregate Portuguese folks that are in any way related with Debian. This blog is now being agregated there, and if you think that your blog should also be, just read this.

Unfortunately I don't blog about Debian as much as I wanted to (must get some more time for that...), but I have a couple of things that I want to talk about, so maybe I'll use this as an incentive ;-)

Best ITP of the year (return of the meme)

One of the best ITP I have seen so far was submitted by my friend Josselin Mouette to debian-devel yesterday :

No Time, Nexuiz, Rcov, Democracy Player

No. Time. To. Blog. But these few lines I wanted to post nevertheless: there's some neat new packages in Debian since today: Nexuiz (nice ego shooter), rcov (code coverage for Ruby), and Democracy Player (RSS video downloader/viewer for videoblogs, packaged by yours truly, as promised).

That's all.
