19 new Debian Developers this week: The Debian Project improves its New Maintainer process

At april 18th 2008, 19 new Debian Developers (DD) accounts
were created.

Debian Project is a
volunteer effort, and
needs more skilled manpower at
many human knowledge areas.

Steve McIntyre elected Debian Project Leader 2008

The winner of the Debian Project Leader (DPL) 2008 election
is Steve McIntyre,
His term as DPL will extend for one year starting on April 17th, 2008.

The Debian Installer
team
is proud to announce the first beta of Debian Lenny's Installer.

This is the first release since Etch and the whole team has been hard
at work during the past 11 months to make this release full of new
features and bugfixes.

We do need your help to find bugs and further improve the installer,
so please try it.

E’ uscita come al solito puntualissima, la nuova versione stabile di Ubuntu versione 7.10 chiamata Gutsy Gibbon.

Today i’ve recieved a mail from James Troup saying that my Debian account has just been created! This means my NM-Process took about 16 months (6 months in “Awaiting DAM Approval”).

I’d like to thank Christoph Haas as my long term Sponsor and Advocate. He has been a tremendous help with all sorts of Debian and packaging releated questions. I also want to thank Christoph Berg for being my Application Manager and making that part of the NM-Process fun. :)

My first upload will be for BitBake to include a patch pull from upstream SVN.
